First built in 1876 by J. Simpson, an extra addition to the structure was added again in 1884. This two story building was further remodeled in 1946 in the Streamline Moderne style with its rounded corners, flat roof, and its obvious emphasis on horizontality. Neon lighting emphasizes the edge of the flat overhanging roof at the first floor level.
