Built 1889. Across from the Carson Mansion, this smaller home was also designed by the Newsom Brothers. It was given by William Carson as a wedding present for his son, J. Milton Carson. This house is a fine example of Queen Anne style, with a corner tower, segmented windows, elaborated machined detail and patterned shingles. See 1116 Second street around the corner to view the adjoining carriage house. Credit: “Eureka: A Guide to the Architecture and History”
