Built in 1883 with a high truncated mansard roof is hallmark of the Second Empire style. This one-and-a-half-story home is one of only a few local examples of a Second Empire home and is combined with Eastlake and Italianate detailing. The Eastlake details appear on the porch, with its turned posts and curved and scroll brackets. The windows are decorated with Italianate bracketed hood moldings, and the frieze is embellished with cutouts and applied decoration. All of these details give a overall almost “wedding cake” effect of the house. (Guide and Green Book)
