Sited on a corner lot and designed by Franklin Georgeson, the Millay House exhibits several characteristics of the Craftsman style. A broad, bracketed gable end extends across and defines the front elevation. Single and grouped multi-paned-over-one double-hung sash windows appear on the shingled elevations, and large exposed beams can be seen at the recessed entrance. A large carriage house is also located on the extensively landscaped grounds. The concrete fence along the J St. side of the property is a 21st century addition.
