The Thompson House, built in 1890, is a good example of a modest one-story Stick/ Eastlake cottage. Typical to Eureka, the entrance is recessed behind an Eastlake porch with convex roof. Hipped roof, slanted bay projections appear on either side of the entrance, above which is a centered shingled dormer with sawn bargeboard. Heavily articulated frames surround the one-over-one double-hung sash windows. A vertically paneled frieze and curved brackets appear at the cornice level.
