Built ca. 1933. The gateway to the Pacific Lumber Company, originally the Holmes-Eureka Lumber Company, used to lie in the area now housing the Bayshore Mall. Essentially an enlarged Craftsman pergola, the joinery techniques, brackets, and over-sized rafters made this gateway a most interesting and important structure. A similarly styled gatekeeper’s lodge lies just inside the gate.
