Erected by G. H. Close i9n 1887, this building exemplifies the textural richness associated with the Eastlake style. The front and side elevations are dominated by one-and-a-half-story bay projections that are cleverly integrated into the main building mass through the use of stepped gables. Carved and pierced gable ends, curved and notched brackets, and fish scale shingles are among the decorative elements used profusely on this house. The pedimented porch, supported by turned posts, retains its original balusters. (Green Book)
