1331 7th Street

Built ca. 1875. A two-story Italianate home occupying a large corner lot. All windows are segmentally arched with bracketed hood moldings and two-over-two double-hung sash, and an angled bay window dominates the front. Paired brackets appear at the cornice level. Note the vertical lines in the horizontal siding which were intended to make it look as though it were made of stone blocks. The house is illustrated in Elliot’s “History of Humboldt County”. A barn, constructed ca. 1905, is located at the rear of the property and has since been converted into a residence. Credit: “Eureka: An Architectural View” (The Green Book)
